It was a Rocky Start recording, so
We went out to find some smoke
Asked around until we found a name

The man he said words to me
I couldn’t tell ya what they were supposed to mean
A fact that only compounded my own blame

Was me and John and Jonny, Mike and
Manny, The whole band we smoked up and
Sat there praying for a lift

Well, Manny turned out to be made up
And Johnny got whole swallowed up
And Me and John and Mike had to sleep in shifts

When I awoke to a cloud of smoke
I shook my head and braced for the worst

But that cloud it wasn’t inside you see
Or product of my debauchery
But a blanket haze spread across the earth

So John and I head for the hills
To get some fresh air and some thrills
But it seemed ol Mother Earth was tryna try us

It was as thick up top as down below
About as white as driven snow
